OpenVCS is in early development and focused on delivering strong Git workflows first.
Current Focus
- Git-first release scope: OpenVCS currently focuses on Git to keep scope tight and quality high.
- Core repository operations: Clone/open repos, status and diffs, staging/commit, branch workflows, merge/conflict flows, stash, sync/remotes.
- Desktop UX: Fast, keyboard-friendly workflows with an interface designed for daily use.
- Experimental status: Features and APIs are still evolving and may change.
Platform Status
- Linux: Primary target today.
- Windows: Supported and actively iterated.
- macOS: Not currently planned.
Roadmap Direction
- Extensibility: Plugin and theme capabilities continue to mature.
- Multi-VCS vision: Additional backends are planned after core Git workflows stabilize.
- Community-driven priorities: Feedback directly informs what gets built next.
